1. How will I benefit from using a Responsum platform?
Patients who use Responsum get—at their full disposal and of no cost to them—a team of professional medical researchers and writers. This team is backed by state-of-the-art technology, to scour, curate, and “translate” the Internet for news, blog posts, discoveries and studies, and lifestyle tips about their chronic disease.
Rather than constantly performing your own research and analysis, Responsum will do it for you, today and every day, so you can spend your time and energy on living and regaining your health. Moreover, Responsum’s organization, scheduling, and support tools let patients, their families, and their care teams manage their health needs efficiently.
We know that getting a chronic disease diagnosis is life-changing, but we’re here to help lighten your load.
2. How is Repsonsum different from other chronic illness platforms?
Responsum is the only patient platform that monitors, searches, and curates the internet to provide a personalized Newsfeed of article summaries, which patients are encouraged to read, share, and comment on.
We also wrap up the Newsfeed into a comprehensive platform that enables patients to correspond with their care team, as well as find local patient support services, financial assistance, and advocate for healthcare policies that impact their treatment.
3. Who determines the content in my Newsfeed?
Responsum Health’s medical experts treat each patient as a unique research project, and each patient’s Newsfeed will reflect that. For every user, we search and summarize the most relevant information from the world’s leading medical journals, newswires, patient blogs, provider databases, and clinical trial registries.
Using Responsum effectively puts some of the world’s leading researchers on your case—leaving you to concentrate your energies on bettering your health or the health of a loved one.
4. What do you do with my personal information?
We use the personal information that you provide to us in several ways. We use it to confirm your account, to better understand who is visiting our website and using the platform, and to enable us to present customized content in your Newsfeed.
If a Responsum Health patient explicitly grants privileges to a loved one, caregiver, and/or healthcare provider to see or edit their profile or Patient One-Sheet information, we will provide them with access.
We do not otherwise share, sell, or disclose personal information that is individually identifiable (including your e-mail address or personal information) to any entity without your prior consent or request, except as required by law. We do not and will not share our email list with other companies or organizations.
We may, however, provide other entities with aggregated data about our users if it doesn’t contain contact information or individually identifiable personal information. An example of this would be that we may inform an organization of the number of Responsum users with a particular diagnosis or in a particular geographical region.
5. Is my data secure on Responsum's platforms?
Yes, it is. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) sets the standard for sensitive patient data protection. Companies that deal with protected health information (PHI), including Responsum, are required to have physical, network, and process security measures in place and must strictly follow them to ensure HIPAA Compliance. As a HIPAA-compliant platform, Responsum takes appropriate Administrative, Physical, and Technical Safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of PHI.
The HIPAA Privacy Rule requires strong safeguards to protect the privacy of personal health information and sets limits and conditions on the uses and disclosures that may be made of such information without patient authorization. The Rule also grants patients rights over their health information, including rights to examine and obtain a copy of their health records and to request corrections.
While Responsum allows users to maintain anonymity by setting up patient accounts under fictitious names, we ensure that community comments left on articles are respectful. We reserve the right to suspend the privileges of anyone who violates this rule.
If you have any additional questions about privacy or data security, please feel free to email us at email@example.com.
